Scorpions, Whip Scorpions, And Tailless Whip Scorpions

Scorpions are easy to spot once you notice the tail and stinger. Whip scorpions and amblypygi, also called uropygi or tailless whip scorpions in some casual use, can seem spider-like because they have long legs and flat bodies.

Their front appendages and body shape are different from spiders.

Ticks, Mites, And Harvestmen

Ticks and mites are tiny arachnids, and many of them are parasites rather than hunters. Harvestmen are often mistaken for spiders because of their long legs, yet their body looks more fused together and they do not have the same silk-making setup.

Lesser-Known Orders

Some arachnids are even more obscure. Ricinulei or ricinuleids, palpigradi, and solpugids all belong to arachnid groups that most people never see up close.
