Why Brown Dog Ticks May Live Near Dogs

Brown dog ticks can feed on dogs during multiple life stages and may hide in kennels, bedding, cracks, and other sheltered areas. Unlike many species that depend heavily on outdoor vegetation, they can complete their life cycle indoors.

A home or kennel can support eggs, larvae, nymphs, and adult ticks at the same time. Regularly inspect pets, wash bedding as directed, and ask a veterinarian about an appropriate tick-control product.

Different Hosts And Life Cycle Patterns
